Suddenlink Drive Nets More Than 34 Tons of Food

The sixth annual Suddenlink-sponsored “Connecting to Those in Need” fall food drive to help stock shelves of The Food Bank of Central Louisiana concluded last week with more than 34 tons of non-perishable food items collected during the six-week campaign. Since its inception in 2007, “Connecting to Those in Need” has collected the equivalent of nearly 114 tons of food, counting both actual food donations plus monetary gifts. Names of contributors who received campaign prizes this year were announced on KALB-TV.

Suddenlink employees in Alexandria, Pineville, Leesville, Many, Natchitoches and Winnfield, La., volunteered during this year’s drive.

TiVo Premiere Comes to Three More Communities

Today, Suddenlink launched the TiVo® Premiere DVR in Winnfield, La., and in Malvern and Newport, Ark. TiVo Premiere combines Suddenlink’s service with TiVo’s best-in-class user interface to offer access to thousands of hours of entertainment choices, including content from Suddenlink’s video-on-demand library and the Web, all accessible through TiVo’s advanced search and discovery features.

Customers in these communities who have multiple TiVo® Premiere DVRs from Suddenlink will also be able to start watching a recorded program in one room and continue it in another. For example, Suddenlink customers with three TiVo Premiere DVRs can record up to six shows at the same time, watch recordings on any TV, start watching in one room and resume in another, and have up to 600 hours of recording space.

Suddenlink is the only multichannel TV service provider in these communities to offer TiVo Premiere DVR.

Since late 2010, the device has been launched in more than 40 Suddenlink communities in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia. Suddenlink plans to expand the availability of the device to additional markets throughout 2012.
