‘Walking Dead’ Star to Host New AMC Series

Norman Reedus, known for his portrayal of Daryl Dixon on “The Walking Dead,” has signed on to expand his relationship with AMC. The actor will host “Ride with Norman Reedus,” a documentary program about motorcycle culture and history.

The six-episode series is set to premiere in 2016. Each hour-long episode will follow the actor as he explores various cities, accompanied by different actors, musicians, friends, and locals who share his passion for riding.

AMC is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Romance Out. Horror In. What Women Watch

Horror showsAccording to the recent AdWeek article “What Women Watch on TV,” today’s female audiences are gobbling up television’s darker fare.

More than half (59 percent) of FX’s “American Horror Story: Coven” viewers were women. Within the cable drama realm, the next three most popular shows among female audiences were AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” FX’s “Sons of Anarchy,” and ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars.”

Another fun fact: More women watch NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” than the network’s reality romance show “The Bachelorette.”

An Early Look at ‘Walking Dead’

The Walking Dead,” the most-watched drama in basic cable history, returns to AMC on Feb. 9 (8 p.m. CT) for its midseason premiere. The network is giving fans a nibble with the above sneak peek, released on You Tube late last week.

While waiting out the remainder of the show’s two-month hiatus, fans can also check out Wetpaint’s “10 Things to Look Forward to After [The Walking Dead’s Dec. 1] Mid-Season Finale.”

MythBusters Explore Zombie Questions Tonight

What would happen if there really was a zombie invasion? That’s the topic the MythBusters explore tonight (9 p.m. CT) in a “Walking Dead”-themed Zombie Special on Discovery Channel. With help from former “Walking Dead” star Michael Rooker, the MythBusters will answer a variety of zombie-apocalyptic questions, such as “How do those shuffling corpses always seem to catch up to their living prey?”

AMC, Educators to Offer ‘Walking Dead’ Class

Fans of cable’s most highly-rated zombie drama can now enroll in a free online course titled, “Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead.'” The eight-week curriculum is the result of a partnership between the network, Instructure, and the University of California, Irvine.  The first class is scheduled for Oct. 14, the day after The Walking Dead’s Season 4 premiere. Saturns Honor Best in Horror, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Action

The 38th annual Saturn Awards, which honored TV and film’s recent horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and action achievements, were held this week. 

Best Film Awards went to “Marvel’s the Avengers” (Science Fiction); “Life of Pi” (Fantasy); “The Cabin in the Woods” (Horror/Thriller); and “Skyfall” (Action/Adventure).

Best TV Awards went to NBC’s “Revolution” (Best Network Series); AMC’s “The Walking Dead” (Best Syndicated/Cable Series) and “Breaking Bad” (Best Presentation on TV); and MTV’s “Teen Wolf” (Best Youth-Oriented Series).

Rolling Stone Talks ‘Walking Dead’ Finale

The season three finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” airs Sunday at 8 p.m. CT.

Rolling Stone contributor David Peisner chatted with “Walking Dead’ writer/executive producer Robert Kirkman and  co-stars Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and David Morrissey (The Governor) for the inside scoop.  Kirkman promises to keep the show’s breathless pace, with 27 character offed in the finale alone.

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Begins Sunday

Tune in to AMC Sunday evening for the season three premiere of one of the most talked-about shows on television, “The Walking Dead.” 

In this kick-off episode, Rick discovers a potentially safe haven in a world that’s growing increasingly dangerous, especially for Lori, as her pregnancy progresses.  First, though, he must secure the premises, pushing his group to its limit.
