Hospice of San Angelo (HOSA) received a $16,000 donation from the city’s Suddenlink office, representing proceeds from the Suddenlink Tony Gibson Memorial Fishing Tournament held Saturday, March 3. The check was presented at Saturday’s event. The Suddenlink Open is typically HOSA’s largest single fundraiser of the year.
HOSA wasn’t the only big winner Saturday. James Gardner was named top angler. His four-fish stringer totaling 13.26 pounds earned him the $2,200 grand prize. Dale Dickson took home $620 for catching the largest single fish, a 10.9-pound bass.
This year’s tournament featured added support from the Outdoor Channel and public appearances Friday and Saturday by Joe Thomas, host of “Ultimate Match Fishing Presented by Sta-Bil” on the Outdoor Channel.
