Three New Movies Available On Demand

Action thriller “Furious 7,” family fantasy “Cinderella (2015)” and Disney documentary “Monkey Kingdom” are now available through Suddenlink On Demand.

Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and the late Paul Walker lead a returning cast of all-stars in the latest installment of the “Fast & Furious” franchise. In “Furious 7,” the crew reassembles to take down a team of mercenaries.

Inspired by the classic fairytale, Disney’s reimagined “Cinderella” brings to life the timeless images from the 1950 animated masterpiece in a visually dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation. Lily James, Cate Blanchett and Richard Madden star.

“Monkey Kingdom” follows a newborn monkey and his mother as they struggle to survive within a competitive social hierarchy in the jungles of South Asia. Tina Fey narrates.

Cable Networks Shine at 2015 Golden Globes

Cable networks had a strong showing at last night’s Golden Globes. More than half the awards presented to television programs went to cable networks and individual actors on cable shows.

FX led the way with “Fargo,” which won the Golden Globe for Best Miniseries and Best Actor. Premium network Showtime also had a strong night, as “The Affair” won Best TV Drama and Best Actress.

Comedic drama “This Is Where I Leave You” is now available through Suddenlink On Demand.

New on VOD: ‘Admission,’ ‘The Host’

Romantic comedy “Admission” and sci-fi romance “The Host” are now available through Suddenlink Video on Demand (VOD), both 28 days before Netflix and Redbox.

In “Admission,” Tina Fey stars as a Princeton admissions officer who meets a student she thinks may be the child she gave up for adoption. Paul Rudd co-stars.

From author Stephenie Meyer (“Twilight”) comes the story of a futuristic species that takes over earth by occupying the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Saoirse Ronan, Max irons, Jake Abel, Diane Kruger and William Hurt star.

Hurricane Relief Telethon Airs Tonight

NBCU announced yesterday that its networks – NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA – will join forces to air “Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together,”  a one-hour live telethon tonight.  Proceeds will aid American Red Cross efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy. HBO and The Weather Channel also have signed on to broadcast the telethon. 

Matt Lauer will host the show, which begins at 7 p.m. CT.  Scheduled performers include Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting.  Also scheduled to appear are Kevin Bacon, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, James Gandolfini, Al Roker, Jon Stewart and Brian Williams.
