TNA’s ‘Turning Point’ Airs Sunday on PPV

Sunday, TNA Wrestling presents “Turning Point” live from Orlando, Fla., at 7 p.m. CT on pay-per-view (PPV) from Suddenlink The three-hour event will feature all of Impact Wrestling’s superstars – Hulk Hogan, Sting, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Rob Van Dam, James Storm and The Aces & 8s.

This event is available only to residential, non-commercial customers, at a price of $34.99 ($44.99 in high-definition format where available), before taxes, fees, and equipment charges. The event requires a digital set-top box (receiver) and is only available in areas where Suddenlink offers PPV. Other restrictions may apply. Hurricane Relief Telethon Airs Tonight

NBCU announced yesterday that its networks – NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA – will join forces to air “Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together,”  a one-hour live telethon tonight.  Proceeds will aid American Red Cross efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy. HBO and The Weather Channel also have signed on to broadcast the telethon. 

Matt Lauer will host the show, which begins at 7 p.m. CT.  Scheduled performers include Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting.  Also scheduled to appear are Kevin Bacon, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, James Gandolfini, Al Roker, Jon Stewart and Brian Williams.

Donations can be made on the Red Cross website or by phone at 1-800-RED-CROSS.  To make a $10 donation, text the word REDCROSS to 90999.

Two Pay-Per-View Events on Tap This Weekend

This weekend brings a doubleheader of live pay-per-view (PPV) events from Suddenlink.

On Saturday at 9 p.m. CT, UFC 153 will feature middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who will move up to light heavyweight to face Stephan Bonnar. Minotauro Nogueira takes on Dave Herman and Fabio Maldonado battles Glover Teixeira in two other matches on the six-fight main card. The event is available for $44.99 ($54.99 in high-definition format where available).

Four preliminary matches will be broadcast live on FX, which is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

On Sunday at 7 p.m. CT, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling presents “Bound for Glory,” TNA’s premier event. In the main match, Austin Aries will battle Jeff Hardy for the heavyweight title. All of the sport’s other superstars will be in action, including Hulk Hogan, Sting, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Bobby Roode, Mr. Anderson, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Miss Tessmacher and Tara. The cost is $39.99 ($49.99 in high-definition where available).
