The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) has announced its 2014 Board of Directors. Terry Cordova, Suddenlink senior vice president and chief technology officer, was elected to serve as board chair.

Terry has served as vice chairman of the board and has held numerous leadership roles at a national level in SCTE.  Earlier his efforts were recognized by induction into the SCTE Hall of Fame, and he was named to the 2011 class of Cable TV Pioneers.

Since its beginning in 1969, SCTE has been dedicated to providing technical leadership for the telecommunications industry and serving its members through excellence in professional development, standards, certification, and information.

Suddenlink CTO Enters SCTE Hall of Fame

Suddenlink Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Terry Cordova, second from left, was inducted into the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Hall of Fame during a ceremony held at last week’s SCTE Cable-Tec Expo. Cordova served as the Expo’s program committee chairman. According to the SCTE:

“Over the years, Terry has continually supported SCTE in many ways, including allowing technical staff in Suddenlink’s systems to participate in all SCTE activities – regional seminars, the Cable-Tec Expo and local chapter meetings. His greatest contributions to SCTE came while he served two separate terms on the SCTE board of directors. He’s also been instrumental in promoting SCTE’s professional development mission.”

Earlier this year, Cordova was named to the 2011 class of Cable TV Pioneers by The Cable Center, the nonprofit educational arm of the cable industry.

SCTE is a non-profit professional association that provides technical leadership for the telecommunications industry and serves its members through professional development, standards, certification and information.
