Suddenlink Fish Tourney Helps San Angelo Hospice

Hospice of San Angelo (HOSA) recently received $24,000, representing proceeds from the Suddenlink Tony Gibson Memorial Fishing Tournament. The San Angelo (Texas) Standard-Times reported today that the tournament is the largest single fundraiser of the year for HOSA, and this year’s donation was the largest in tournament history. Since 2010, the tournament has raised $71,000.

HOSA wasn’t the only big winner Saturday. San Angelo resident Ronnie Wallace was named top angler with a record-setting 29.7 pounds of fish in his five-bass limit. Included was the tournament’s largest fish, a 9.79-pound bass. Wallace won $2,200 for first place and an additional $785 for the Big Bass prize.

The tournament featured added support from the Outdoor Channel and public appearances by Joe Thomas, host of “Stihl’s Reel in the Outdoors” on the Outdoor Channel. Suddenlink Tourney Nets $24K for Hospice

As reported in the San Angelo (Texas) Standard-Times, Suddenlink representatives this week presented a $24,000 check to Hospice of San Angelo (HOSA). The donation represented proceeds from the Suddenlink Tony Gibson Memorial Fishing Tournament held March 2. The tournament, named in memory of avid fisherman and San Angelo Bass Club member Tony Gibson, is the biggest fundraiser of the year for HOSA.  This year’s donation was the largest in tournament history.

Since 2010, the tournament has raised $71,000 for hospice programs. Tournament winners and supporting sponsors are listed on FishTheOpen.

San Angelo Names Suddenlink ‘Best Internet’

For the fifth consecutive year, Suddenlink has been named “Best Internet Provider” in the San Angelo (Texas) Standard-Times’ annual Readers’ Choice Awards edition.
