Romance Out. Horror In. What Women Watch

Horror showsAccording to the recent AdWeek article “What Women Watch on TV,” today’s female audiences are gobbling up television’s darker fare.

More than half (59 percent) of FX’s “American Horror Story: Coven” viewers were women. Within the cable drama realm, the next three most popular shows among female audiences were AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” FX’s “Sons of Anarchy,” and ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars.”

Another fun fact: More women watch NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” than the network’s reality romance show “The Bachelorette.”
