World’s Eyes on Jonesboro as Pole Vault Capital

Could the pole vault capital of the USA be Jonesboro, Ark.?  Some would say so.  Olympian Jeremy Scott trains there at Bell Athletics under the tutelage of Olympic medalist Earl Bell.  Scott begins vaulting at a qualifying session in London tomorrow, and hopes to make it to Friday’s medal competition.  To learn more about Scott and a training facility that brings in Olympic hopefuls from around the country, check out this report that Suddenlink viewers saw recently on Jonesboro’s KAIT-TV.

Bell Athletics is gaining worldwide attention, too.  See a video report from Great Britain’s BBC and a CBS report on Bell’s father Dr. William Bell, 90, attempting to break the world pole vault record for his age group.
