As the countdown to the Academy Awards begins, enjoy a collection of Oscar-winning films, along with some that have been nominated this year with Suddenlink On Demand. The lineup, available through March 31, features over a dozen movies, including “The Hurt Locker,” “Crash,” “Frozen,” “12 Years a Slave,” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” There’s also a selection of titles that received nominations this year, such as “The Martian,” “Inside Out,” and “Sicario.”

On Demand Films Win Big at the Oscars

Several movies honored at last night’s Academy Awards are now available, or will soon be available, through Suddenlink On Demand.

Taking home the Best Picture award was “Birdman,” which also earned Best Directing, Best Cinematography and Best Original Screenplay. Eddie Redmayne received the Best Actor award for his role in “The Theory of Everything.” Watch both now, On Demand.

J.K. Simmons received Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Whiplash,” which also earned Best Film Editing and Sound Mixing. “Big Hero 6” took the award for Best Animated Film. Both will be available tomorrow, Feb. 24, On Demand.

On Demand Films Earn Oscar Nominations

Several films available through Suddenlink On Demand have dominated the 2015 Academy Awards nominations. “Birdman” is the most-nominated film, currently in the running for nine awards including “Best Picture,” “Best Actor” and “Best Director.”

Additional Oscar-nominated films available are “The Theory of Everything” and “Nightcrawler.”

Critics and Fans Agree ‘Argo’ is a Winner

Moviegoers and movie critics were not likely surprised when “Argo” was named Best Picture at the Oscar Awards last night.  At Rotten Tomatoes, 96 percent of critics and 93 percent of audience members recommended the film.   

Chicago Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert called the film “both spellbinding and surprisingly funny.”

Argo” is currently available on Suddenlink Video on Demand VOD.
