Three More Communities Get 1 Gig Service

Residential customers in Bossier City, La., Tyler, Texas, and Victoria, Texas, can now get our new up to 1 Gigabit per second Internet service. Local business owners also have access to this 1 Gig service, along with customized services that Suddenlink has offered for many years that are capable of multi-Gigabit speeds.

Since July, the service has been made available to residential customers in the following Suddenlink-served communities:

  • Arkansas: Jonesboro, Russellville
  • Arizona: Flagstaff
  • Missouri: Nixa and Ozark
  • North Carolina: Greenville and Rocky Mount
  • Oklahoma: Enid and Stillwater
  • Texas: Abilene, Andrews, Big Spring, Bryan, College Station, Huntsville, Kingwood, Lubbock, Lufkin, Midland, and Terrell

New Series Launches on the Weather Channel


Yesterday marked the premiere of “Weather Underground,” a live, interactive show that will continue to air weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CT. Meteorologist and storm tracker Mike Bettes hosts the program with severe weather specialist Sarah Dillingham.

Each evening, the show will provide insights into the science behind forecasting, all within a casual setting. Fans will be able to submit questions, report current weather conditions and contribute to the program with social media.

The Weather Channel is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Blythe, Calif., Gets More HD TV Channels

This week, we completed an upgrade to an all-digital TV lineup in Blythe, Calif., providing customers with superior picture and sound quality. We also launched a new Video on Demand (VOD) service, and began offering TiVo® HD/DVR, as well as TiVo Stream and TiVo Mini.

In the process, Suddenlink added more than 30 new high-definition (HD) channels to its lineup.  Among them are: KCBS HD (CBS), NBC Sports Network HD, Bravo HD, Disney XD HD, Fox Business Network HD, ESPNews HD, ESPNU HD, Fox Sports2 HD, CBS Sports Network HD, Outdoor Channel HD, The Sportsman Channel HD, Pac-12 Network HD, FX Movie Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel HD, HBO HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD, The Movie Channel HD, Starz HD, Encore HD and SEC Network HD.

HDTV offers a widescreen format, similar to a movie theater, with distinctly sharper images and better sound quality than standard TV.

Customers with Suddenlink digital receivers can now access On Demand services by going to Channel 1.
