VOD Collection Salutes Independence Day

Celebrate Independence Day with a collection of patriotic films, now on Suddenlink Video on Demand (VOD). This special assortment is available through July 31 and includes popular titles like “The Hurt Locker,” “Independence Day,” and “Black Hawk Down.”

History to Air ‘America: The Story of Us’


In honor of Independence Day, the History channel will air “America: The Story of Us” on Friday, July 4. The epic 12-hour television event, which originally premiered in 2010, tells the extraordinary story of how America was invented. Tune in to the marathon between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT.

“America: The Story of Us” presents a comprehensive telling of our country’s history, featuring CGI animation, dramatic recreations and insights from respected artists, business leaders, academics and intellectuals.

History is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Charleston Wins ‘Red, White & You’ Sweepstakes

Red, White and You

A Charleston, W.Va., resident’s entry in the “Red, White & You” Sweepstakes has earned her city an expanded Independence Day fireworks display, courtesy of cable network Destination America  and Suddenlink.

Launched in March, the “Red, White & You” contest invited people nationwide to share why their community deserved an all-American, spectacular July 4 celebration. Charleston resident Jama Jarrett’s entry, which described Charleston as a “capital city with small town charm,” won the sweepstakes.

The fireworks display, to be held at 9:30 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park, will follow Charleston’s “Live on the Levee” concert series.
