FXX Premieres New Original Comedy

Tonight, FXX will premiere the new original series “Man Seeking Woman” starring Jay Baruchel. The comedy will continue to air on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. CT.

The new series follows Josh Greenberg, a naïve romantic seeking true love after he is dumped by a longtime girlfriend. “Man Seeking Woman” will take an absurd, yet sweet, look at the surreal life of dating.

FXX is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic service.

Cable Nets to Debut Midseason Series

Cable networks are preparing to premiere several new series this year. New programming will premiere on several networks, including Animal Planet, FXX and AMC.

Tomorrow, Animal Planet will debut “Alaska: Battle on the Bay” at 9 p.m. CT, which follows a team of fisherman as they take on a particularly challenging salmon season.

On Jan. 14, “Man Seeking Woman” will premiere on FXX at 9:30 p.m. CT, a comedy based on Simon Rich’s novel “The Last Girlfriend on Earth.”

The highly anticipated “Breaking Bad” prequel spinoff “Better Call Saul” will premiere on AMC on Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. CT. The new series will follow Saul Goodman in the days before he worked as Walter White’s lawyer.

Watch All of ‘The Simpsons’ Online

FX will launch “Simpsons World,” a fully searchable archive that will provide users with a new way to watch the longest-running primetime animated series online. FX subscribers will have access to every episode of “The Simpsons” from their computer or other network device.

Both subscribers and non-subscribers will have access to show quotes and short clips.

FX is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic service.

DVR ALERT: Fox Network Changes, Sept. 2-4

 

Fox Networks have been busy of late, and they’re not finished quite yet.

Changes are summarized in the image above (click to enlarge) and copy below.  Check local listings for channel numbers.  We also recommend you check your DVR settings to make sure the affected shows record on the right day, time, and channel.

Fox’s planned changes could impact series (a.k.a., season pass) recordings, plus other recording options available on your Suddenlink DVR or Suddenlink TiVo device.  Also, depending on when your channel guide updates, you may need to wait until the day before or day of the noted show changes to update your DVR settings.

On Aug. 17 …

  • Fox Networks changed the name of the Speed Channel to Fox Sports 1.

On Sept. 2 …

  • Fox Networks will change the name of Fox Soccer to FXX.
  • Immediately after the change, FXX will be on the same Suddenlink channel number that Fox Soccer is on today and remain available to most Suddenlink customers on an incremental level of digital TV service (either “digital basic” or a “digital tier”).

On Sept. 4 …

  • Fox Networks will move the following shows from FX to FXX: “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (Wednesdays, 9 p.m. CT), “The League” (Wednesdays, 9:30 p.m. CT), and “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell” (Mondays through Thursdays, 10 p.m. CT).
  • Fox Networks will move “The Ultimate Fighter” (Wednesdays, 9 p.m. CT) from FX to Fox Sports 1.
