Food Net Stops in Bossier City

FN_Food-Court-Wars_s4x3_lgAccording to the Shreveport Times, The Food Network reality competition series “Food Court Wars” makes a stop in Suddenlink-served Bossier City, La., in this Sunday’s episode (7 p.m. CT).

In “Bistro to Go vs. Southern Traditions,” pits two friends hoping to expand their catering business against a father-daughter team with a passion for southern cooking.

Rob Zombie Visits ‘Cupcake Wars’

Watch four bakers fight to win over the master of horror, Rob Zombie, on the newest episode of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.”

The cupcakes had to be vegan and contain extremely spicy ingredients. The winning recipe was recently featured at the grand opening of the month-long haunted music attraction, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare.

The episode premieres tonight, 7 p.m. CT.  It will replay tomorrow, 2 a.m., and Wed., Oct. 30, 10 a.m.

Kingwood Chef to Compete on New Guy Fieri Show

Daniel Vercher of Suddenlink-served Kingwood, Texas, has been chosen to compete on a new Food Network reality show, “Guy’s Grocery Games.”  The show, hosted by celebrity chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri, debuts Oct. 20 (7 p.m. CT). Vercher will be featured later in the season.

The Kingwood Observer spoke to Vercher about his audition and competition experience.

Cupcake Champ Moves to Amarillo

Nicole Costa, a winner of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” recently relocated with her military husband and family from Suddenlink-served New Bern, N.C., to Suddenlink-served Amarillo, Texas.

Right now Nicole is operating her bakery business online, but hopes to open a brick-and-mortar shop in Amarillo. Nicole spoke with the Amarillo Globe-News about the move, the bakery biz, and her “Cupcake Wars” experience.

Leander, Texas, Chef is Featured on ‘Chopped’

Jannelle Reynolds, a chef from Suddenlink-served Leander, Texas, will appear as a contestant on tonight’s episode of Food Network’s “Chopped” (9 p.m. CT). Reynolds recently spoke with Community Impact about her work and her “Chopped” experience.

Chef Reynolds was born and raised in another Suddenlink community, Lubbock, Texas.  Her “Chopped” experience was also mentioned in the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

All-Night BBQ on Food Network

Tonight, Food Network is dedicating a two-hour primetime block to a great American backyard pastime.  Beginning at 7 p.m. CT, Guy Fieri visits purveyors of barbecue across the country (including BBQ Shack in Suddenlink-served Paola, Kan.) in three classic, back-to-back “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” episodes.

Then on “Mystery Diners,” the owner of Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in Texas sends the crew to a competing restaurant to find out if they’ve stolen his secret family recipe.

Have you entered Food Network’s “Chopped: All-Stars New York Sweepstakes?” Someone will win a trip for two to New York and tickets to the New York City Wine & Food Festival. Enter once a day through May 31. Grand prize includes hotel, airfare and $500 spending money.

Season Three of Chopped All-Stars premieres Sunday, 8 p.m. CT,  with a new line-up of culinary contenders vying for the title of All-Stars champion. The winner will receive a $50,000 donation to his or her chosen charity. The contest is broken down into four themed rounds. In each of those rounds, four celebrity chefs compete.  The winner of each round advances to compete in the finale, where one will be crowned the All-Stars Champion.
