Suddenlink Drive Nets More Than 34 Tons of Food

The sixth annual Suddenlink-sponsored “Connecting to Those in Need” fall food drive to help stock shelves of The Food Bank of Central Louisiana concluded last week with more than 34 tons of non-perishable food items collected during the six-week campaign. Since its inception in 2007, “Connecting to Those in Need” has collected the equivalent of nearly 114 tons of food, counting both actual food donations plus monetary gifts. Names of contributors who received campaign prizes this year were announced on KALB-TV.

Suddenlink employees in Alexandria, Pineville, Leesville, Many, Natchitoches and Winnfield, La., volunteered during this year’s drive.

Central Louisiana Food Drive Extended to Dec. 12

Suddenlink’s sixth annual “Connecting to Those in Need” fall food drive to help stock shelves of The Food Bank of Central Louisiana has been extended until December 12. 

“The extension will help us better respond to a growing community need and draw attention to The Food Bank’s upcoming telethon,” said Suddenlink Community Ambassador Tony Cifelli.

Suddenlink Food Drive Begins in Central Louisiana

Through Nov. 27, Suddenlink employees in Alexandria, Pineville, Leesville, Many, Natchitoches and Winnfield, La., are again sponsoring the award-winning “Connecting to Those in Need” food drive campaign to help stock shelves at the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. Last year’s drive produced 36 tons of nonperishable food items.  The goal for this year is 40 tons. Drop-off sites can be found in this KALB-TV report.

Food Bank Collection Tips Scale at 32 Tons

Suddenlink employees in the Alexandria, La., area teamed up for their fifth annual “Connecting to Those in Need” fall food drive to help stock shelves at The Food Bank of Central Louisiana. The six-week campaign surpassed organizers’ ambitious 30-ton goal, setting a new, single-campaign record. Since 2007, “Connecting to Those in Need” has generated nearly 80 tons of food or equivalent monetary donations.

Louisiana’s First Lady Backs Food Drive

Louisiana First Lady Supriya Jindal is lending her support to Suddenlink’s fifth annual “Connecting to Those in Need” fall food drive for the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. Her public service announcement will appear throughout central Louisiana on various Suddenlink-carried cable channels and two broadcast stations in the Alexandria area.
