Research: Parents are Positive about Technology

Recent research from the Family Online Safety Institute explores opinions about the evolving role technology plays in the lives of children today. According to the study, “the large majority of parents believe technology has a positive effect on their child’s future, career and life skills, and creativity.”

The “Parents, Privacy & Technology Use” report also provides insight into feelings about online privacy, social media use, and general positives and negatives kids face today. While the majority of adults believe access to research and knowledge is a benefit, privacy and health concerns remain.

The Great Websites for Kids committee, comprised of members of the Association for Library Service to Children, has once again announced its annual selection of fun, educational sites for children. Recommended sites are organized by category: Animals, The Arts, History and Biography, Literature and Language, Mathematics and Computers, Reference Desk, Sciences and Social Sciences.

‘Rio 2′ Collection Available On Demand

Animated adventure “Rio 2” is now available through Suddenlink On Demand. The children’s sequel follows Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they are hurtled from Rio to the wilds of the Amazon. Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway lend their voice talents.

In addition, the “Rio 2” collection of top animated animal movies is also available. The lineup includes “Happy Feet,” “Ratatouille” and more. This collection will be available through August 19.
