Charleston Wins ‘Red, White & You’ Sweepstakes

Red, White and You

A Charleston, W.Va., resident’s entry in the “Red, White & You” Sweepstakes has earned her city an expanded Independence Day fireworks display, courtesy of cable network Destination America  and Suddenlink.

Launched in March, the “Red, White & You” contest invited people nationwide to share why their community deserved an all-American, spectacular July 4 celebration. Charleston resident Jama Jarrett’s entry, which described Charleston as a “capital city with small town charm,” won the sweepstakes.

The fireworks display, to be held at 9:30 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park, will follow Charleston’s “Live on the Levee” concert series.

Thank you to everyone who entered.
