Craig Ferguson to Host New ‘History’ Series

Former “Late Late Show” host Craig Ferguson is heading to the History channel. Each week, comedy panel show “Join or Die with Craig Ferguson” will introduce a new topic for guests to discuss in front of a live studio audience. Panelists will range from comedians to field experts.

The first episode will air tonight at 10 p.m. CT, following the season premiere of “Vikings” at 9 p.m.

Lifetime Original Movie Premieres Tomorrow

Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow” will premiere on Lifetime tomorrow, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. CT, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Mary Steenburgen stars in the live-action family film based on Jim Henson’s original characters and story, written in 1968. The movie follows a family as they head to the eccentric town of Turkey Hollow to track an elusive monster. Jay Harrington also stars, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges narrates.

‘Hellevator’ Premieres on GSN Tonight

A terrifying new series will premiere on the Game Show Network tonight, just in time for Halloween. “Hellevator,” from the minds that created the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, will air at 7 p.m. CT.

Each episode of the game show will feature a group of friends that dares to ride a haunted elevator into the depths of an abandoned warehouse. To earn prize money, each individual must conquer a frightening challenge before the elevator leaves without them.

Cable Nets Again Rule Emmy Nominations

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were recently announced, and cable programs lead the way, once again. After the announcement, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) decided to research why cable programs consistently perform well at the Emmys.

In the recent article, the NCTA cites cable’s creative freedom to explore themes that network TV might not. As the NCTA stated, “audiences have made it clear what they’re after: narratives that push social boundaries and defy conventional norms, and actors who can pull it off.”

NFL RedZone Free Preview Available

Suddenlink customers living in areas where NFL RedZone is available can enjoy five nights during preseason for free. The preview kicks off this evening between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. CT. Programming will also be available at no cost tomorrow from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Aug. 22 from 6:30 to 10 p.m., Aug. 29 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sept. 3 from 6 to 10 p.m.

UP Premieres First Scripted Series

Tonight, UP will premiere “Ties that Bind,” an original drama, and the network’s first scripted series. The first episode will air at 8 p.m. CT.

Kelli Williams stars as Allison McLean, a tough and experienced police detective in suburban Seattle. When she is forced to arrest her brother for aggravated assault, his two teenage children are left in her care. Jonathan Scarfe and Dion Johnstone also star.

Cable Nets Receive Top Emmy Nominations

Cable networks are once again set to dominate the Primetime Emmy Awards. For the second year in a row, “Game of Thrones” leads the race with 24 nods, helping make HBO the most-nominated network, with a total of 126. FX received 45 nods, including 20 for “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”

Among other cable networks receiving multiple nominations were AMC (24), History Channel (11), Lifetime (10), Discovery Channel (7) and Disney Channel (4). These networks are available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

New ‘Ancient Aliens’ Season Starts Tonight

The History Channel will launch an all-new season of “Ancient Aliens” tonight at 8 p.m. CT. Tonight’s premiere will examine cryptic man-made caves, mysterious structures and unusual underwater discoveries from ancient times.

This season, “Ancient Aliens” will continue to explore the controversial theory that extraterrestrials have visited Earth many times throughout history. Tune in on Friday evenings.

Paw Star Game Kicks Off on Hallmark

This weekend, a group of kittens will go up to bat against the biggest baseball game of the year. Hallmark Channel will air the first annual Paw Star Game this Sunday, July 12 at 4 p.m. CT.
