Hurricane Relief Telethon Airs Tonight

NBCU announced yesterday that its networks – NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA – will join forces to air “Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together,”  a one-hour live telethon tonight.  Proceeds will aid American Red Cross efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy. HBO and The Weather Channel also have signed on to broadcast the telethon. 

Matt Lauer will host the show, which begins at 7 p.m. CT.  Scheduled performers include Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting.  Also scheduled to appear are Kevin Bacon, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, James Gandolfini, Al Roker, Jon Stewart and Brian Williams.

Donations can be made on the Red Cross website or by phone at 1-800-RED-CROSS.  To make a $10 donation, text the word REDCROSS to 90999.

CNBC, USA and The Weather Channel are available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
