‘Brave’ is a Big, Hairy Deal

True to Disney Pixar’s reputation for attention to detail, great care was taken in coiffing the characters in “Brave.”

Did you know:

  • Princess Merida has more than 1,500 individually sculpted, curly red strands that generate about 111,700 total hairs?  If the curls were straightened, her hair would be four feet long and reach the middle of her calf.
  • If Queen Elinor let down her up-do, the hair would be about six feet, six inches long?
  • Overall, there are more than 100 unique hair/facial-hair combinations used for humans and animals in “Brave?”  Each variant can appear in any of nine different colors, creating more than 900 possible variants.

You can find these and more “Brave” Fun Facts here.
