Discovery Goes Brainy All Night

Get your science on by tuning in to Discovery Channel tonight.  Starting at 7 p.m. (CT) you can cheer on competing scientists and inventors with a new episode of “The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius,” followed by “Outrageous Acts of Science.” Then stay put for a new episode of “MythBusters.”

On “Big Brain Theory,” competitors take on an Olympian challenge: design a robot that can tackle three athletic events.

“Outrageous Acts of Science” takes science to the streets, as amateur and professional scientists conduct experiments and post their exploits online, competing with other backyard scientists to go bigger and bolder.

“MythBusters” burns rubber at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway testing racing myths.

Discovery Channel is available to all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

‘Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius’ Starts Tomorrow

Reality competition show “The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius” premieres tomorrow night on Discovery Channel (9 p.m. CT).

Each week, contestants will be teamed to attempt seemingly impossible engineering challenges in just 30 minutes. Judges will eliminate one contestant per episode.

The winner will earn $50,000 and a one-year contract to work at WET, the industry leader behind some of the world’s most innovative water-based designed environments and experiences including the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas.

The cameras will follow the pressure both in the design workshop and in the competitors’ shared living quarters.

Actor/producer Kal Penn will host, joined by judges Mark Fuller, President and CEO of WET, and Dr. Christine Gulbranson, a nanotechnologist and renewable energy innovator.
