Happy Earth Day from Suddenlink

ASU earth day 2013

For our Green Team in Arkansas, every day is Earth Day.  Employee volunteers in the Jonesboro and Russellville cable systems head up year-round electronics recycling programs.  The Green Team collects small electronic equipment items for environmentally safe disposal. Items may be dropped off at the Jonesboro and Russellville Suddenlink offices, or look for the “eCycling” trailer at various recycling events in both cities.

Today, Community Media Specialist Troy Smith took the eCycling trailer to collect e-waste at Arkansas State University’s Earth Day celebration.  Since launching in 2009, the Suddenlink Arkansas eCycling program has collected nearly 100 tons of used electronic gear.

C-SPAN Bus Visits Jonesboro, Ark.

In partnership with Suddenlink, the C-SPAN Campaign 2012 Bus visited Jonesboro, Ark., this week, making stops at Arkansas State University (ASU) and Jonesboro High School. KAIT-TV8 in Jonesboro reported on the visit to the high school. In addition to touring the bus, students had the opportunity to call in live to C-SPAN’s signature morning show, “Washington Journal.”

Mayor Harold Perrin sent a proclamation, which was read during the ASU stop, proclaiming Feb. 8 “Suddenlink/C-SPAN Day” in Jonesboro.

The C-SPAN bus stops at schools and community centers across the country. Visitors are invited to explore high-tech interactive displays with the help of C-SPAN tour guides. Like C-SPAN, the bus tour is a non-profit project that is supported solely by the cable television industry.
