Time is Limited to See Three Acclaimed Films

The Suddenlink Video on Demand (VOD) rental window closes tomorrow on “The Master,” which garnered Academy Award best-acting nominations for Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams.

The clock is also ticking for two other award-winning films. “Life of Pi” is available until July 25, and “Argo” is available until July 30.

Critics and Fans Agree ‘Argo’ is a Winner

Moviegoers and movie critics were not likely surprised when “Argo” was named Best Picture at the Oscar Awards last night.  At Rotten Tomatoes, 96 percent of critics and 93 percent of audience members recommended the film.   

Chicago Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert called the film “both spellbinding and surprisingly funny.”

Discovery Special Tells Real Story Behind ‘Argo’

Argo: Inside Story” will air this weekend on Discovery Channel, Saturday at 9 p.m. CT and again Sunday at 11 p.m. CT.

Updated from its original broadcast in 2002 on Discovery, the one-hour special is narrated by Bryan Cranston, who plays CIA manager Jack O’Donnell in the 2012 Ben Affleck film “Argo.” The special gives an inside look at the dramatic escape and how CIA “chief of disguise” Tony Mendez forged identity documents and elaborate disguises to get past the security agents at the Tehran airport.

Based on real events, “Argo” chronicles the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis. Ben Affleck directs and stars. Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin and John Goodman also star.

Beginning tomorrow, award-winning historical thriller ‘Argo’ will be available through Suddenlink Video on Demand (VOD), 28 days before Netflix and Redbox.
