The Discovery Channel has announced the broadcast of a new documentary titled “Everest Avalanche Tragedy,” which will premiere Sunday, May 4.
The network had planned to air the first wing-suit flight off the top of Mount Everest by daredevil Joby Ogwyn, but cancelled the live primetime event following the tragic avalanche that killed 13 people on Friday, April 18.
“We were at Mount Everest to make history, but instead we were there as eyewitnesses to history,” said Eileen O’Neill, Discovery Network President, in a recent statement. “It is essential to tell this story and honor all the Sherpas who lost their lives.”
Discovery Channel is available to all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
