ORIGINAL: 7 P.M. CT, 12/8/13

Extended storm-related power outages continue in Paris, Texas. Suddenlink’s central technical facility has continued to operate without interruption, on generator power, during and after the storm.  Suddenlink managers are tracking the progress of electric utility crews and working to help make sure that Suddenlink services are operational as soon as commercial power is restored.

We estimate that service to nearly 50 percent of our Paris customers has been restored as of late Sunday afternoon.

There may be some situations where cable lines running to the home have been knocked down by the storm or felled trees or tree limbs.  Our crews will start those repairs immediately after power company officials give them the okay to do so, ensuring each area is safe for non-power company crews to begin work.

Please avoid contact with downed utility lines, since they may be electrical lines or otherwise in contact with electrical power sources and, as a result, could pose an electrocution risk.

We will post further updates.
