Programs Recognize Hispanic Heritage Month

Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month and several networks are commemorating the observation with special programming.

PBS, for example, will present a six-hour documentary series exploring the 500-plus year history of Latinos in what is today the United States. The series will run Sept. 17 – Oct. 1, 7-9 p.m. CT.

For younger viewers, Disney Channel has begun presenting new installments of its original between-program short series, “This is Me,” which features kids talking about their heroes, families, passions and what Hispanic Heritage Month means to them.

The Texas Cable Association offers details about other Hispanic Heritage Month programming.

Disney Channel and PBS are available to all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
