‘Top Gear’ Season Finale Premieres Tonight

On the “Top Gear” season finale tonight (History Channel, 8 p.m. CT), the hosts head to Iceland, home of some of the toughest winter off-roading, to prove to the locals that American trucks still have what it takes to conquer the world. Their challenge is to drive over mountains, across frozen rivers and through 30-foot snowdrifts to the virgin land at the top of an active volcano. What could possibly go wrong?

“Top Gear,” one of the UK’s most popular series since 1977, has been bringing its high-adrenaline action entertainment to America for three seasons on History Channel. The show delves into the colorful history of the automobile and showcases an offbeat celebration of the art of driving, featuring super-cars, extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity interviews, as well as the eccentric adventures of its hosts, comedian and car buff Adam Ferrara, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood.

History Channel is available to all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
