Cable Nets Showered With Emmy Nominations

Paced by HBO and AMC, cable networks fared very well in this year’s primetime Emmy Award nominations, reported Multichannel News. HBO earned 104 nominations, led by its miniseries “Mildred Pierce” and “Boardwalk Empire.” AMC received 29 nominations, including 19 for “Mad Men,” which has won three previous Emmys for best drama series. In all, cable networks garnered more than 250 nominations.

Among other cable networks receiving multiple nominations were History Channel (7), Cartoon Network (6), FX (6), Nickelodeon (6) and Discovery Channel (5). These networks and AMC are available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
