TNT Revs Up NASCAR Coverage

The midseason NASCAR network shift occurs this weekend as TNT takes over coverage of Sprint Cup Series races from Fox. The NASCAR on TNT Summer Series begins Sunday with the Pocono 5-Hour Energy 500. TNT and Nascar.com are promising enhanced features and more interactivity on TV and online.

Veteran NASCAR broadcaster Adam Alexander will handle the play-by-play duties. Former drivers Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach will serve as analysts.

After Pocono, TNT will provide coverage for five more consecutive weeks before turning over Sprint Cup Series coverage to ESPN.

TNT is available to all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

I always dread TNT coverage every season. 63 laps to go and we’ve hardly “seen” a pass in the entire race (not that Pocono is too exciting). I just hear KP yap about nothing. Camera focusing on a single car. There is no relativity between cars on the track. Save us. Send us back to Fox. Click. Click. (that was my heels)
