We’re Proud of Our Small Towns

USA Today and Rand McNally recently sponsored a “Best of the Road” contest, encouraging Americans to nominate their favorite small towns in a variety of categories. Several Suddenlink communities received nominations.

Lake Havasu City, Ariz., placed fourth of 265 for Friendliest Town. Also nominated in this category were: Mountain Home, Ark.; Bishop and Eureka, Calif.; St. Joseph, Mo.; New Bern, N.C.; Enid, Stillwater and Woodward, Okla.; and Abilene, Midland, Nacogdoches and Tyler, Texas.

Abilene placed seventh of 110 nominated cities as Best Town for Food. Midland and Stillwater were also nominated in the category.

Mammoth Lakes, Calif., placed 23rd of 302 for Most Beautiful Town. Other Suddenlink towns recognized for beauty were Flagstaff and Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Mountain Home, New Bern and St. Joseph.

Mammoth Lakes and Nacogdoches were nominated for Most Fun Town. Branson, Mo., received votes for Most Patriotic Town, and Hot Springs, Ark., got a nod for Most Romantic Hotel (1884 Tinkerbelle’s Wildwood Bed & Breakfast).
