Comedy Central Debuts Two New Shows

Comedy Central recently celebrated 20 years of living up to its name. The network’s “endurance is the result of talent-spotting and demographic marketing,” writes New York Times reporter Brian Stelter.

The network hopes to keep the momentum going with two new programs designed to appeal to its primarily young, male audience. “Workaholics,” a scripted series about three recent college grads working as telemarketers, debuted April 6. “Sports Show with Norm MacDonald,” a sports news parody inspired by McDonald’s Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” sketches, premieres Tuesday, April 12.
