New NCAA Hoops Coverage Clicking

The decision to spread coverage of the NCAA basketball tournament among four networks is producing double-digit ratings gains thus far. Through Saturday night, viewership of the March Madness games was up 11 percent over last year, according to Multichannel News. CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV are averaging 7.828 million viewers, up 12 percent over last year’s 7.007 million, when the games were shown exclusively on CBS. This is the first time in tournament history that every game is being aired live in its entirety.
