Cable Honors at SAG Awards

Several cable TV series and movies received recognition at last night’s 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, with HBO earning more major honors than any network.

The cast of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire” was named outstanding ensemble cast for drama and the show’s Steven Buscemi was crowned outstanding male actor in a drama series.

Al Pacino and Claire Danes were named outstanding male and female actors in a TV movie or miniseries: Pacino for HBO’s “You Don’t Know Jack,” and Danes for HBO’s “Temple Grandin.”

HBO’s “True Blood” received an award for outstanding television stunt ensemble.

Best female actor in a comedy series went to 89-year-old Betty White for her role on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland.”
