HD Sets Prevalent, HD Viewing Less So

More than half of homes now boast at least one high-definition (HD) TV set, proving, it would seem, that consumers have been quick to embrace HD technology. Many viewers, however, are still using their new sets to watch their favorite programs in standard definition. According to a recent Nielsen Company study, less than 20 percent of television viewing is in HD.
