‘Take a Veteran to School’ Days Planned

For the fourth year in a row, the Texas Cable Association (TCA), its member companies and the History Channel will recognize Veterans Day with the “Take a Veteran to School” program. The project brings together veterans and schoolchildren, with the veterans sharing their real-life experiences.

School visits in Texas will run from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12. Suddenlink events will be held Nov. 9 at Stephen F. Austin Middle School in Amarillo and Nov. 12 at Tippit Middle School in Georgetown.

In West Virginia, the third annual “Take a Veteran to School” program will run from Nov. 8 to 16 at 18 high schools across the state. It is a collaborative effort of the West Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association (WVCTA), Senator Jay Rockefeller, various veterans groups and the History Channel.

“We are honored to work with Senator Rockefeller again this year to recognize West Virginia’s veterans and help connect them with our next generation,” said Michael Kelemen, WVCTA President and Suddenlink Director of Community Relations.
