Facebook Nips Google for Online Time

In August, Facebook surpassed Google as the online site where users spend the most time, according to a report in Computerworld magazine. Data compiled by online researcher comScore showed U.S. Web users spent 41.1 million minutes on Facebook during the month, compared to 39.8 million minutes on Google’s various sites, including Google News, Gmail and YouTube. Yahoo was third.

“Facebook continues to grow its user base and grow engagement among its users,” said Andrew Lipsman, senior director of industry analysis at comScore.
