It’s a term that many consumers of Internet service have probably never heard. But it’s at the center of a vibrant debate — layered with considerable confusion — in Washington, DC.

Paul Rodriguez offers a reminder of what this debate is “really about” and, in the process, takes to task two of his favorite cable shows for their mischaracterizations of the issue.

    Getting rid of net neutrality will be played as an innocent move by providers until they get their foot in the door. Once they have the power to block sites they will use it for their own profit. It’s human nature. Merely saying that you will not use the power you are granted is to deny the corruptible nature of mankind.
