News Roundup

Suddenlink has launched an Internet safety program in Lake Charles, La. — similar to the programs launched in Ruston, La., Russellville, Ark., and elsewhere.

Continuing its expansion of HD services, the company added three HD channels (Learning Channel HD, Discovery Channel HD, and Animal Planet HD) to its “HD Basic” lineups in Georgetown, Gladewater, Henderson, Huntsville, Jacksonville, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon, Pflugerville, Sulphur Springs, and Tyler, Texas. Meanwhile, two HD channels were added to the “HD Basic” line up in Greenville, N.C. — FX HD and Discovery Channel HD — and five were added to “HD Basic” in the N.C. communities of Kinston, New Bern, Washington and Parmele; those five channels included: Bravo HD, CNBC HD, TLC HD, Animal Planet HD, and Discovery Channel HD.

Bill Pearce — I’m told a meaningful expansion of HD channels is planned for Kingwood in 2009, potentially early ’09. Regarding VOD, we will continue introducing that service to new markets in ’09 and will announce its local availability as soon as we have such information confirmed.
